Major John Plaster, U.S. Army Special Forces (ret) is also the author of The History of Sniping and Sharpshooting. Check out his latest work, Sharpshooting in the Civil War.

While at the 2009 SHOT Show in Orlando, Florida, Major Plaster was approached by a U.S. Army civilian intelligence analyst from Iraq, who told him that "many, many soldiers and Marines owed their lives to The Ultimate Sniper."

Major Plaster recently received a letter from a GI sniper in Iraq who told him about how much the snipers in that war depended on The Ultimate Sniper:

"Major Plaster,

I just wanted to thank you personally for all the great work you have compiled and made so easy to study. I am currently a Sniper in Iraq with the Big Red One out of Ft. Riley and the RTO/Security guy in my team has your book, The Ultimate Sniper. I went to Sniper School in 2007 and was in my battalions sniper Section a few months before I went. I've been a shooter for my team ever since. I appreciate the book and as a section we review it often and even give 'Sniper tips of the day' from it.

Thank you so much and God bless,
SPC. Andrew Wiscombe"

"Just finished reading The Ultimate Sniper and wanted to thank you for a fantastic book. I have read lots of books on shooting and sniping but have never enjoyed or gotten more from a book."
