Handguns Afield
by Jeff Cooper

When Handguns Afield was first published in 1961, hunting with a handgun was in its infancy. Surely settlers and cowboys of the 19th century would have used a handgun on wild game from time to time to fill the campfire stewpot, but as far as using a handgun for hunting as a pastime, this sport was not yet widely recognized.

Jeff Cooper expertly summarizes the various aspects of hunting with handguns in the few dozen pages of this volume. Handguns, cartridges, holsters and shooting small and large game are all thoroughly described and explained in Handguns Afield. If the average handgun shooter follows the advice in this book – most of which is still relevant today – he will be well prepared to hunt game with a pistol.

SAVE WHEN YOU BUY THE EARLY JEFF COOPER SHOOTING BOOKS AS A SET.

Paladin Press is honored to bring back this series of four shooting books written by Jeff Cooper in the 1950s and 1960s. They are important because they represent a wide body of knowledge that few shooters today possess and they showcase the remarkable breadth and depth of Cooper's knowledge of guns and shooting.

Each book in contains an exclusive new foreword by quick-draw expert Thell Reed, a young student of Cooper in the late 1950s, who offers a glimpse of what shooting was like at the time and of the influence of Cooper on him and subsequent generations of shooters.

See the descriptions of the individual volumes for more details. This set is not available to wholesalers.
